Macbeth
Anche qui secondo Clara Longworth de Chambrun, studiosa di Shakespeare, nel suo libro, Shakespeare, Actor-Poet si fanno riferimenti al lavoro di John Florio. Florio: A gallant death doth honour a whole life (Second Fruits, Folio 34). Shakespeare: Nothing in life became him like the leaving of it (Macbeth, Act I, sc, i). Florio: That is quickly done that is done well.(First Fruits, 1578) Shakespeare: If ‘twere done when ‘tis done ‘twere well kwere done quickly (Macbeth, Act I, sc 7). Qui invece Shakespeare nel Macbeth fa riferimento ai proverbi raccolti da Florio in frasi come questa: Like the poor cat in the adage.
